  33.                                | graphics version of Kings Corner solitaire.

  43.                                | excellent graphics and playability. There
  44.                                | are lots of options including screen colors,
  45.                                | shuffling and dealing rules, and hints.

  47.                                | different type of solitaire game with an
  48.                                | unusual twist you can cheat, but when you
  49.                                | do, another spider comes out on the screen
  50.                                | to crawl around and annoy you.
  51. ELEVENS.COM     36607  08-18-89  Elevens Solitaire (Metlen, Richard D.; $0)
  52.                                | is another version of solitaire. You get
  53.                                | nine cards face up and try to pair up any
  54.                                | two that total eleven. Face cards don't
  55.                                | count, but can be played off by getting a
  56.                                | Jack, Queen and King together. After playing
  57.                                | off all the cards you can, you press Enter
  58.                                | and the empty places are filled in with new
  59.                                | cards. If you play off all the cards in the
  60.                                | deck, you win. If you get stuck so that you
  61.                                | cannot play off any of the nine cards, you
  62.                                | lose.

  64.                                | interesting solitaire game in which you try
  65.                                | to play off pairs of odd or even cards.
  66.                                | Sounds make it unsuitable for office breaks
  67.                                | or late-night play. (Utilities for killing

  69.                                | library.)
  70. FREECEL.COM     21908  05-29-89  Freecell (Horne, Jim; $10) is a new kind of
  71.                                | solitaire game. It supports a mouse.
  72.                                | Instructions are given when you run the
  73.                                | program.
  74. GOLF_SOL.ZIP   118578  12-05-93  Golf Solitaire (Expert Source Code, Inc.;
  75.                                | $12) is an interesting variation of
  76.                                | solitaire with excellent VGA graphics. You
  77.                                | have to play off seven stacks of face-up
  78.                                | cards onto a single stack, going up or down
  79.                                | numerically. If you get stuck or play a
  80.                                | King, you have to play off a face-down deck.
  81.                                | When the deck is used up the game is over
  82.                                | and the number of face-up cards left count
  83.                                | against you. Clear off all the cards and you
  84.                                | get to hear the William Tell Overture.
  85. GRIDLY.EXE      79985  04-12-91  GRIDLY (BSX International; $5-$10) is a
  86.                                | unique solitaire poker game.

  88.                                | interesting solitaire card game requiring a
  89.                                | little strategy and planning.
  90. KINGS.COM       22042  08-29-90  Kings Corners (Pixel Perfect; $0) is a fast
  91.                                | moving form of solitaire that is easy to
  92.                                | learn. The goal is use up the deck by
  93.                                | placing cards on a four-by-four grid. Kings
  94.                                | must go in the corners, queens on the sides
  95.                                | (between the corners), and jacks on the top
  96.                                | and bottom (between the corners. Other cards
  97.                                | can be played anywhere, but if you block all
  98.                                | the positions for, say, the kings, and then
  99.                                | draw a king, you lose. When all the squares
  100.                                | have cards on them, you can remove all pairs
  101.                                | of cards that sum up to 10, thus making room
  102.                                | for more cards. We never came close to
  103.                                | winning. Plays faster and easier with a
  104.                                | mouse, but one is not required.
  105. KLONDIKE.ZIP   138246  11-26-93  Klondike (Martins, Eduardo ASP; $15) is a
  106.                                | popular solitaire game also known to some as
  107.                                | Fascination or China-man. Klondike has
  108.                                | excellent colors, graphics and music, and
  109.                                | offers optional Las Vegas scoring. EGA/VGA
  110.                                | is required and a mouse is strongly
  111.                                | recommended.
  112. KOSYNKA.EXE     69918  12-14-92  Kosynka 1.1 (Rhyzkov, Sergey; $15) is a
  113.                                | solitaire game sent to us from Russia.
  114.                                | Kosynka is similar to Klondike, except that
  115.                                | it uses two decks of Russian face cards
  116.                                | which are played in nine or ten columns
  117.                                | instead of seven. Requires EGA/VGA.
  118. LABELLE.EXE     43364  09-18-91  La Belle Lucie Solitaire 4.0 (Leotti, George
  119.                                | and Gellman, Robert; $0) is a simple but
  120.                                | very interesting game of solitaire. Although
  121.                                | the game appears to be easy to win, it
  122.                                | requires considerable thought and planning
  123.                                | (and some luck) in order to be successful.
  124.                                | The game is much more engaging than the more
  125.                                | familiar Klondike solitaire. Norm Silliman,
  126.                                | Pleasant Hill, CA, writes: "Love LaBelle,
  127.                                | except I can't keep my wife away from the
  128.                                | computer so that I can play."

  130.                                | solitaire game also known as "La Belle
  131.                                | Lucie". The cards are dealt into 17
  132.                                | three-card stacks with the last card alone
  133.                                | in the 18th stack. The object is to play all
  134.                                | the cards into suit stacks in ascending
  135.                                | order. You can temporarily move cards to
  136.                                | other stacks in descending order. You can
  137.                                | only play the top card from a stack, except
  138.                                | that you can get one draw" of any card per
  139.                                | game, as well as three re-shuffles per game
  140.                                | of the remaining cards.
  141. MONTANA.COM     22461  01-09-91  Montana Solitaire (Donnell, Brian L.;$?) is
  142.                                | a challenging game of solitaire. All 52
  143.                                | cards are dealt in four rows. The aces are
  144.                                | removed, and the object is to get each row
  145.                                | in ascending rank order from left to right.
  146. OSMOSIS.EXE     81590  12-07-92  Osmosis (Rasa, Randy; $5) is a solitaire
  147.                                | game in which you move cards into four
  148.                                | stacks by suit. The catch is that you cannot
  149.                                | play a card into a stack unless a card of
  150.                                | the same value is already in the next stack
  151.                                | above it, with the exception of the top
  152.                                | stack, of course. There are four face-up
  153.                                | piles of four cards each from which you can
  154.                                | play the top card. The other cards are
  155.                                | turned up three at a time. EGA/VGA and mouse
  156.                                | required.
  157. PATENC40.ZIP   161914  11-19-93  Patience 10 4.0 (CoCoWare ASP; $10) is a
  158.                                | single program with a choice of ten
  159.                                | distinctly different versions of solitaire
  160.                                | selectable from a menu. Each game has its
  161.                                | own Best Scores table. We found the usage of
  162.                                | keys to be about the most awkward of any
  163.                                | solitaire game we have tested, causing you
  164.                                | to have to stretch your hands across the
  165.                                | keyboard and numberpad; however, after a
  166.                                | while we got used to it. Graphics are not
  167.                                | used, so the program will work on any type
  168.                                | of video. Mouse support is included. The
  169.                                | large selection of solitaire variations in
  170.                                | this game makes it worth a try.
  171. PDS_SOL.COM     51600  08-23-89  PDS Solitaire (Personal Data Systems; $5) is
  172.                                | a solitaire game with four game options:
  173.                                | Triangle Easy or Difficult or Agnes Easy or
  174.                                | Difficult. We are not familiar with the
  175.                                | meaning of "Triangle" and "Agnes", but we
  176.                                | could not detect any difference in the way
  177.                                | they played. This is a very well done,
  178.                                | entertaining version of solitaire.
  179. POKERSOL.ZIP   131002  11-19-93  Poker Solitaire 1.1 (Martins, Eduardo ASP;
  180.                                | $15) is a poker solitaire game that works
  181.                                | like 1POKER, except this program is for the
  182.                                | EGA/VGA.
  183. POKR_SQ.EXE     21587  07-22-92  Poker Squared (Abello, Jing L.; $0) is a
  184.                                | combination of solitaire and poker. The
  185.                                | object of the game is to place 25 cards onto
  186.                                | a 5x5 square grid and create the best 12
  187.                                | poker hands possible. The poker hands are
  188.                                | scored across, down, and diagonally. The
  189.                                | computer will then automatically calculate
  190.                                | your total score, and keeps a running total
  191.                                | of the highest score. Mouse support is
  192.                                | provided.
  193. PYRAMID.ZIP    136179  11-19-93  Pyramid (Martins, Eduardo ASP; $15-$20) is a
  194.                                | solitaire game. It features high-resolution
  195.                                | EGA graphics and optional mouse support. It
  196.                                | includes a Tournament mode in which you can
  197.                                | play against a friend.
  198. SOLI_BAS.COM     6196  08-18-89  Soli-bas is a solitaire game that is
  199.                                | included mainly because some people may be
  200.                                | interested in the BASIC source code.
  201. SOLIEGA.COM     32290  08-21-89  SoliEGA (Junod, Joahn A.; $5) is an
  202.                                | EGA/VGA-Mouse rendition of the basic
  203.                                | solitaire game. You are given three options
  204.                                | for turning the cards in the deck. The EGA
  205.                                | means sharper graphics and the Mouse means
  206.                                | easier playing of the cards. After quitting
  207.                                | the program, we were left with a black
  208.                                | screen and had to blindly type CLS to get a
  209.                                | cursor and DOS prompt back.
  210. SOLITAIR.COM    10828  08-18-89  Solitair (Zemon, Arthur; $5) is the easiest
  211.                                | to use of these games in terms of keyboard
  212.                                | usage.
  213. SOLITAR2.EXE    19456  02-23-86  Solitar2 (Irvine, Brian; $?) is played Las
  214.                                | Vegas style.
  215. SOLMENU.ZIP    138190  11-19-93  Solmenu1 (Meadows, Karl; $12) contains five
  216.                                | solitaire games: Canfield, Golf, Grand
  217.                                | Duchess, Monte Carlo and Frog. The graphics
  218.                                | are attractive and the games are fun to play.
  219. SOLTAIR.EXE     48387  07-30-92  Solitaire 1.1 (Compusoft; $15) is a good
  220.                                | implementation of the Klondike solitaire
  221.                                | game. It has attractive graphics and mouse
  222.                                | support. Options include three-card and
  223.                                | one-card turns. Requires EGA/VGA, a mouse,
  224.                                | and 483K.
  225. STACKEM.COM     19467  10-16-89  Stackem (JCC Software; $10) is a challenging
  226.                                | and unique solitaire game. It will probably
  227.                                | take you a game or two to figure it out, and
  228.                                | then you'll wish you hadn't - it'll drive
  229.                                | you crazy trying to figure the best way to
  230.                                | move the cards around.
  231. STREETS.ZIP    149179  11-19-93  Streets and Alleys (Conrow, Kenneth; $0) is
  232.                                | a solitaire puzzle using cards. It can keep
  233.                                | a record of a deal and let you replay it as
  234.                                | often as you like until you have explored
  235.                                | all the possible paths to a solution and
  236.                                | either found one or confirmed that the deal
  237.                                | is a bust. It can be used to keep a record
  238.                                | of deals which have been solved. Over 200
  239.                                | solvable games have been saved on disk for
  240.                                | you to try to solve, in addition to being
  241.                                | able to generate new hands. Also included is
  242.                                | the game, La Belle Lucie. Pascal and SPA:WN
  243.                                | source code are provided for each of these
  244.                                | games.

  246.                                | and very addictive game of solitaire. (The
